Project 3: Human-Centered Digital Twins for Augmented Manufacturing Assembly
Manufacturing is transitioning toward Industry 5.0, where human workers, intelligent systems, and digital representations of physical processes operate in tightly integrated environments. A key enabling technology in this transformation is the digital twin, which is a real-time virtual representation of a physical system that enables monitoring, prediction, and decision support.
This project explores the development of a human-centered digital twin for manufacturing assembly, where a physical workstation (robots and 3D printers) is synchronized with a virtual model that tracks system states, task progress, and user interactions in real time. Virtual amd Augmented reality (Vr and AR) serve as the interface through which the digital twin communicates guidance, feedback, and system intelligence directly to the user.
