ABOUT
Aqlan lab at the University of Louisville is directed by Dr. Faisal Aqlan, Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering and director of Engineering Management programs. The lab aims to optimize organizational transformation process and help organizations (manufacturing, healthcare, and service) to achieve successful transformation and enhance their competitive advantage. We conduct theoretical and applied research in the areas of simulation, automation, artificial intelligence, and process improvement. Our team includes undergraduate and graduate students who work on research projects funded by federal organizations and local industry.

Aqlan Lab Co-ops
(Fall 2023) Benjamin Pacyga is an undergraduate student at the University of Louisville. He is pursuing a degree in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. His career interests lie in software engineering and virtual reality, where he hopes to use these talents in the video game industry.
(Fall 2023) Khem Bastola graduated in fall 2023 with a degree in Computer Science and Engineering. During his time at Aqlan Lab, he worked on Virtual Reality and Internet of Things technologies to develop a Digital Twin for manufacturing using Unity Engine. Khem is passionate about using technology to craft meaningful and engaging experiences.
(Spring 2024) Nour Hamado is currently a student in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Louisville. Nour is working on online simulation of manufacturing systems and developing mixed reality (MR) applications.
